Many of the planned activities are organized according to availability, events or seasonal dates, appropriate weather conditions, or the discretion of our guides. We make every effort to provide the experience described in the itinerary with the understanding that some things may change.

Tuesday

May 17 – Phoenix – Sedona – Grand Canyon

  • Breakfast

  • Depart Phoenix for Montezuma Castle National Monument

  • Sedona Heritage Museum Pay.

  • Lunch at Oaxaca Mexican Restaurant. 

  • Grand Canyon Park Entry Visitor’s Center, Mather Point.

  • Dinner – Mission Inspiration Dinner

Overnight Grand Canyon

Wednesday

May 18 – Grand Canyon – Northern AZ

  • Breakfast

  • Conquer The Canyon Hike – So. Kaibab Trail – Ooh Ahh Point, Cedar Ridge.

CTC and AIM Staff will escort Team AIM on So. Kaibab and Rim visits. TRAIL LUNCH.

Overnight Flagstaff

Thursday

May 19 –  Flagstaff – Walnut Canyon - Sedona

  • Breakfast 

  • Dinner – Picazzo’s, Sedona.

Overnight Sedona – (1 Night of 2)

 

Friday

May 20 – Sedona – BELL ROCK

  • Breakfast – The Coffee Pot Restaurant. 

  • BELL ROCK Walk 

  • Subway / Whole Foods Lunch – Posse Grounds - On Own.

  • Tlaquepaque Visit

  • Farewell Dinner – Sedona

May 21 – Sedona – Arcosanti - Airport

Adventure Details:

 

For those traveling with the Team including the air package - the trip gateway from Erie Airport on May 16, 2022. It returns to Erie Airport on May 22, 2022.

 

For those using their own air, this adventure begins at our designated hotel on May 16, 2022, at 6:00 pm. It ends on May 21, 2022, at 11:00 am (Hotel Check-out Time). 

  

A.I.M. Student Prices:

AIM Students are subsidized by Mercyhurst University and include the guidance of the attending AIM staff.

A.I.M. Guest Prices:

AIM Students have exclusive priority to space on this adventure. Should space become available, guests of students are welcome to attend. Please complete the Registration Form and indicate that you would like to be a guest and which AIM student you will be traveling with. We will contact you directly with additional details, availability, and pricing information. 

Deposits & Payments (See Cancellation and Refund Policies Below).

 

Deposits: A deposit of $500 USD per person is required to reserve your space. No space will be held without a complete deposit. Deposits may be made by check or credit card, online, or over the telephone. 

 

Payments: All payments must be made according to the schedule & are subject to the cancellation & penalty policy. Our tour prices are subject to change due to currency fluctuation at the time of final payment. The final payment is due on or before April 1, 2022. Debit or credit card transactions will incur a 3% surcharge.

 

Payment Options: $500 is Non-Refundable. If you would like to pay in full, please tell us in the comment section of the online registration form. A representative will contact you by telephone.

Adventure Inclusions

 

  • 6-nights hotle/lodge accommodations.

  • 3-nights Kilimanjaro Camp accomodations including full camp, tents, sleeping bags/liner/pad, private toilet & portage. 

  • All meals as indicated on the itinerary: B-Breakfast, L-Lunch, D-Dinner. 

  • All hikes and walks led by Licensed and Professional Tanzanian Kilimanjaro guides and a Walking Connection host and A.I.M staff.   

  • Safari includes game drives via 4 wheel safari vehicles, certified Tanzania Safari Guides.

  • Group Transfers from JRO - Kilimanjaro Airport to Lodge - Airport.

 

What is NOT included

 

  • International or Domestic Airfare.

  • Tanzania Visa - Visas are required for all U.S. and Canadian citizens to enter Tanzania. We recommend securing documentation prior to arrival. The Walking Connection will supply information for the proper paper work for all guests.

  • Tips for guides or other services.

  • Travel insurance. **(Required) 

  • Early check in & late check out of rooms

  • Optional tours or items of a personal nature such as drinks and extra bottled water.

  • Photographs & phone calls

  • No discounts or refunds on any unused portion of the tour.

  • Anything that is not specifically listed as included.

  • Travel Insurance is not included, we recommend CSA Travel Pro.

*PRICE VARIATION – Prices are based upon the current government fees for park and sanctuary entry and all taxes at the time of publication of this web page. Should the government impose any new taxes, raise the current tax or increase the entry cost to any park or sanctuary, the price increase will be passed along and charged to you. You will be notified of this increase at the time we are notified. All payments received by us are subject to the cancellation policy already published and in effect.

 

**TRAVEL INSURANCE THAT CONTAINS EMERGENCY MEDICAL TREATMENT, HOSPITALIZATION, EMERGENCY EVACUATION AND MEDICAL TRANSPORT BACK TO THE USA IS REQUIRED. IF, you are using a credit card and wish to use their travel insurance, please be sure it includes Emergency Medical Treatment, Hospitalization, Emergency Evacuation and Medical Transport back to the US/Canada is required.

 

Due to the unique nature of this adventure and its remote location, it is REQUIRED that clients take out adequate insurance cover against all risks associated with adventure travel, this means appropriate travel and medical insurance prior to departure of clients from their country of origin. A climb or safari is an adventure holiday and accordingly the Walking Connection, Adventure International, LLC or their officers and employees shall be liable in way for any loss or damages expenses or costs arising from any incident involving clients that may occur whilst using any of the services provided by the Walking Connection, Adventure International, LLC or third parties contracted by the company. Insurance should at least cover: personal accident, medical expenses, hospitalization, repatriation, trip curtailment, cancellation, and loss of valuables.

***International Airfare - The Walking Connection does NOT provide international or domestic airfare. The international airfare indicated in the Adventure Price section above is provided as a courtesy to the A.I.M. program. A.I.M. is the sole provider and cooridinator for air travel with regard to this adventure. ALL inquiries with regard to air will be referred to them.

Additional Details:

 

Reservations for this trip are available on a limited basis and are only available on a first come first served basis. Should this trip completely sell out, please see our waiting list policy below.

 

Adventure Minimum: This trip must have a minimum of 10 guests traveling together. 

 

Waiting List Policy: On occasion, AIM and Walking Connection adventures sell out and a waiting list is formed. If this should happen, the following policy will apply: To be put on the waiting list, a fully refundable deposit is due with reservation. If space becomes available, you will be notified at that time and if you choose to go, the standard cancellation policy will then apply. If not, your money will be refunded in full.

 

Travel Roommates and Single Supplements: If you have registered for double occupancy but do not have a travel roommate, the Walking Connection will attempt to locate one for you. In the event that a roommate cannot be found, you may be charged for a Single Supplement for any portion of the tour where you will be rooming as a single. Travel roommates are assigned in the order in which we receive deposits and confirmed reservations. Final roommate assignments will be made and you will be notified of any Single Supplement charges due 30 days prior to your final payment due date.

 

Cancellations & Refunds: Should you have to cancel your tour the following terms will apply:
 

All cancellation requests will incur an additional $500.00 per person administrative fee.

 

  • For cancellations 0-59 days prior to departure and no shows, no refunds will be made.

  • No refunds will be made for any unused portion of the trip.

 

All cancellations must be made in writing and delivered to The Walking Connection via e-mail and/or United States Post Office. Your cancellation date is the date your notice is received and confirmed by The Walking Connection, not the postmark date.

 

Should this trip be cancelled by The Walking Connection: 100% Refund.

 

Additional Forms: Please note that the administrative, operational company (The Walking Connection) and the hosting organization (AIM of Mercyhurst University) require additional forms to be completed prior to your actual travel.
